Taopix Desktop Designer software is a standalone desktop installed application, offering a range of advanced design features.

This downloadable designer is available to use anywhere on Mac and PC. Once downloaded, your customers can start to design photobooks and photo gifts with no Internet connection or plugins required. Supports both online and offline ordering.

Users can work with 100's of pictures at ease. And we don’t manipulate or change the original files!

Our user friendly Desktop Designer software is designed to be highly customisable, flexible and brandable – just like the rest of our platform!

Taopix gives you all the tools you need to configure and control your desktop photobook designer software so that you can:

Brand and customise using your own branding, logos and colours. Customisation areas include the landing page, splash screen, product selector window, shopping cart and email templates.
Offer a wide range of products and templates! From photobooks to calendars, greetings cards and more.
Focus on one niche product if you prefer, i.e. ready books or wedding books.
Turn design features on or off, from fonts to masks, backgrounds to frames and scrapbook items etc. When it comes to design features, you can offer customers either a limited or wide choice range.
Pick your templates and fonts. Set up your own templates or use the starter templates, backgrounds, fonts* and images provided.
Auto detect languages, covers approximately 20 languages and growing.
Link to asset management libraries. Use our Library Link feature** to offer your customers more choice.
AutoUpdate. Ensures your customers always have access to the latest content published by you; from products to backgrounds, masks to pricing and more.
Provide a wizard tool and a flight check. Turn the wizard on or off and configure per product. Configure our flight check to ensure jobs are right before they are sent off to print.

Use our powerful Creator tool to create and edit the options you offer to customers within the Desktop Designer as often as you like.

Reposition, crop and resize photos onscreen and clearly see how many times they've used a photo.
Apply effects to photos, i.e. sepia, black and white.
Perform 8 picture corrections with one click using our photo fix software by Perfectly Clear.
One click red eye removal using our integration with Perfectly Clear photo fix software.
Upgrade and change their photobook or photo gift via our clever upsell tools.
AutoFill photobooks - using all of their uploaded photos with one click, then edit photo positioning etc.
Use a design wizard to help prompt them and teach them how to create a book very quickly. Complete a comprehensive flight check prior to ordering.
Add their own design elements, including templates, backgrounds, masks, frames and scrapbook items.

Working with pictures

Our customers are often curious to know how Taopix Desktop Designer works with pictures, and here's what we tell them:

Uses local processing power, there is no central server requirement.
Does not change or manipulate original pictures.
Choose how the programme prepares files for print production, per product.
Choose flattened pages (raster) file preparation: Taopix uploads individual flattened pages in your preferred format (supports jpeg or vector pdf).
Choose our Project Elements job preparation feature: favoured by professional photographers, Taopix does not render the job pre-delivery, instead individual page elements (background, text, images etc) are delivered to the production site as separate files to allow for additional image correction.
Taopix securely encrypts and decrypts jobs so only your business, as a unique software licensee, can encrypt, decrypt and output jobs for production.

JPEG – RGB / CMYK / Greyscale
TIFF – RGB / CMYK / Greyscale
PNG – RGB / Greyscale
